Glenelg Tram
The Glenelg Tram takes you from Adelaide (North Terrace) to one of South Australia's most popular seaside destinations, Glenelg. Until January 2006, vintage H-class tram cars provided all services on the Glenelg tram line. Since that time, they've been joined by a fleet of modern trams that operate the tram service. 2009 marked the 80th anniversary of the first tram service from Adelaide to Glenelg and you can enjoy a ride on the heritage trams on weekends and public holidays. The free service departs from Moseley Square every 30 minutes and travels to Glengowrie (Morphettville Racecourse) and return.
Old Gum Tree
The Old Gum Tree is the birthplace of South Australia. It was here that Governor Hindmarsh read the proclamation that formally established the new province on 28 December 1836 and that reading is recreated and celebrated on the same day each year. Learn all about the Old Gum Tree and the history of South Australia's beginnings at the Bay Discovery Centre, Moseley Square, Glenelg, Just catch the tram in Adelaide, disembark at the sea, and you’re there.
